December 13, 2018

Thank you so much to Shannon over at Mindful Living With Shannon for nominating me for this award. This means so much because I’ve only been blogging for about five months now and I never imagined that my blog would actually do so well. I’m very thankful.

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger that nominated you and link their blog
  • Write a post to show your award
  • Give a brief story about how your blog started
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
  • Nominate other bloggers
  • Comment on each blog to let them know that you have nominated them and provide the link to your post

Why I Started My Blog

Writing became a passion for me when I was about 6 years old. It became an escape for me. Whenever things got hard, I turned to writing. When I was about 16 years old, I created my first blog but it wasn’t very successful. Five months ago, I decided to completely start over and create this blog. I wanted a place to just write, express my opinions, share my stories, and let my creative side roam free. It was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. Not only is my blog doing better than I could have imagined but I’ve learned a lot about myself and I’ve made so many great connections with other bloggers!

Advice To New Bloggers

I haven’t been blogging for a super long time but in the five months that I’ve had this blog, I’ve actually learned a lot.

My first piece of advice is, don’t think you have to have it figured it out right away. Starting a blog can be overwhelming because you want to have the perfect name, the perfect layout, and the perfect content right away. The truth is, I don’t think there’s anybody who knows 100% what they’re doing at first. Experiment and play around with new ideas until you can say, “This is what I want my blog to look like and be about.”

My second piece of advice is, create your own blog schedule. There’s a lot of bloggers out there who post content every day and I know that it’s easy to feel pressured to keep up. I started posting on my blog about twice a week and that let me really focus on the content I was putting out. That is what worked best for me. It’s totally up to you if you want to post once a week, twice a week, every other day, or every single day. Everybody is different so do what is most comfortable and convenient for you.
