As I’m writing this, it’s Sunday afternoon and every Sunday, I plan the week ahead in my Erin Condren planner. I was going to just dive in as normal today when I thought, “Wait, I should blog about how I do this!” Some of you may think this is boring (sorry!) but I know there are others who love watching “Plan with me’s” on YouTube. So I guess this post is my blogger’s version for you!
There’s nothing more satisfying than turning the page to see a blank week that soon will be filled with plans, ideas, and lots of fun stickers!
1. Washi Tape!
The very first thing that I do when I start my new week, is put down my washi. It’s just strips of decorative tape (one on top, one on bottom) that really starts the whole spread off to a pretty start!
I honestly just slap the washi down, making sure it’s straight, then I remove any excess on the ends with my Xacto knife.
The Washi with the cute bows is one that I like to use on the top. It’s from an Etsy Shop called Cricket Paper Co and then the bottom washi is from a bundle that I got from Walmart. Unfortunately, I can’t find the brand name of it!
The first thing I always have to get down before anything else is my work stickers! My worst nightmare is waking up late thinking I start work at 12 when I was supposed to be there at 9. Yikes! Thankfully, I’ve never done that and my planner will continue to make sure that stays true.
These work stickers are from the Happy Planner: Planner Basics sticker book!
3. Bills and Paydays
The next most important things are my bills and paydays, of course. A lot of my bills are automatic but it’s nice to have it down in your planner so you know when money will be coming out of your account. This is especially helpful when you’re on a crazy spending habit like I have lately!
Sorry, Manda your rents due soon. Put the fall candles down!
Again, the stickers you see here are from the Happy Planner: Planner Basics sticker book. Actually, the rest of the stickers you see on this post are from this sticker book!
4. Blog and Social Media
The part that takes up most of my time is my blog and social media planning because there’s a lot I have to think about. As you can see, Monday’s are busy. It’s the day when I publish a new blog post and with that comes sharing it and reading comments.
Although, I have to be realistic with myself and realize I’m probably not going to get all of that done in one day. Especially reading comments and reading fellow bloggers posts because that’s something we do every day! So, that’s why that arrow is placed through Tuesday and Wednesday.
5. The SideBar
When I first got my planner, I had no idea how to use the sidebar and I see many other people having the same problem. But I like to keep it simple and have a water tracker. I know this particular tracker is supposed to be for daily use (8 glasses) but I just black out one of the water droplets and then use the 7 to mark every day I drink enough water! This helps save these stickers so I don’t go through them too quickly.
The next thing I include is my “To Buy” list for the week. This gets added to throughout the week but it’s never very long anyway.
6. The Bottom Section
This is the next section I didn’t touch for the first couple of months because I wasn’t sure how to utilize it. Now I use it to mark the days I want to work out (M, W, F) and then dinner ideas in between!
7. Decorative Stickers!
Once I have all of my important plans down, it’s time to have some fun. I find any excessive amount of empty space and start placing some fun decorative stickers to make the rest of the spread cute and visually appealing. I also decided that on Thursday, my day off, I would have a movie night!
As you can see, I do leave quite a few boxes still untouched. This is because on Sunday I only know the bigger things I need to accomplish that week. The week is always unpredictable or I totally space on something that I need to accomplish and so I leave those spaces left for last-minute plans or appointments!

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I plan my week out! Planning has become an important part of my life and so I thought I would share this fun post. Let me know in the comments if you use a planner as well!
