What I’ll Achieve in 2019

December 31, 2018

Happy New Years Eve! I cannot believe that tomorrow, it’ll be a whole new year. There have been so many ups and down’s in 2018 that I’m ready for a new start. Yes, I’m that kind of person who believes in the whole, “New year, new me.” Well, kind of. I know I can’t completely change myself and I don’t want to. It’s more about having that whole new year to improve yourself in ways that you didn’t really focus on in the previous year. It feels like a clean slate and a breath of fresh air. There have been many mistakes made and lessons learned in 2018 and I’m ready to take what I learned into 2019. I’m determined to make 2019 the best year for me yet! So here are some of the things that I plan to accomplish in 2019.

I’ll focus on my blog full-time

Creating a blog five months ago was the best decision I’ve made in 2018. I told myself I wanted to create a blog and I did it. Then I told myself I wanted to remain consistent and for the most part, I did! I’m very proud of the accomplishments I’ve made so far but I like to think there’s always room for improvement and growth. I’ve come up with a blogging schedule already that I’m determined to stick to, I’m going to focus on improving future blog graphics, and new ways of generating traffic! My blog is my baby and I’m so excited to focus on it full time. Also, I just want to thank everybody who takes time out of their day to read my posts. You’re a big reason why this dream is coming true!

I’ll be more organized

In 2018, I considered myself organized because I owned a planner. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my planner and wouldn’t know how to survive without it but there’s much more to being organized than I realized. I currently work at my living room table with books and papers scattered all around me. It’s pretty chaotic and not the designated work area that I need. I’m changing that very soon!

I’ll be great at saving money

Now that I finally have a solid job, I’m finally going to have some extra money in my pockets. Although, knowing myself, I may be tempted to reach for that extra money whenever there’s a new makeup product that I must try! But I won’t. I’m going to put a majority of whatever money I have leftover after bills are paid, and I’m keeping it in my savings. Of course, I’m going to make sure I have money for things I need and new makeup occasionally but saving is really important and I’m determined to become a pro when it comes to saving!

I’ll focus more on my physical health

I won’t say I live an unhealthy lifestyle right now but I know there are so many areas I could improve my health. For example, actually coming up with a workout routine and not just working out when I feel like it. In 2018, I fell into the habit of eating healthier meals and cutting out as much dairy as possible (ice cream doesn’t count, sorry!) I’ve always hated drinking milk so it wasn’t very hard. So I guess in 2019, my main focus is going to be focusing on working out and making sure my body is healthy.

I’ll focus more on me & my mental health

I think this one is most important. 2018 was a bad year for my mental health. I was cheated on, I lost my best friend, and I was taken advantage of. Even though it’s so easy to point fingers at whoever hurt me, I was the one who made it harder for myself. I wouldn’t stop clinging on to the toxic relationships because I wasn’t aware of my ability to stand on my own. I lacked self-confidence and love for myself. I really thought for a while that I needed to be loved or I wouldn’t be happy. The truth is, I do. I need to be loved by myself. I have a better understanding of how I want and need to be treated and I’m walking into 2019 with a better understanding of that.

I’m stepping out of my comfort zone

My social anxiety is yelling at me for this one but I need to break free from my comfort zone. Getting a job that works with people all day long was a great start. In 2019, I want to get even better at it. I want to be able to say, “Yeah, I’ll be happy to go to that big social gathering with you” instead of making up an excuse just so I can go home and watch Netflix curled up in a blanket. Oh, my wonderful safe comfort zone. Goodbye.

I’m getting a puppy!

Okay, I know I said I’m going to save money and I am! Part of my savings is for a puppy though. It’s something I’ve been talking about and planning for months. For Christmas, my mom even got me items for my future puppy! Check out my last post to see what I got. All of my life, I’ve always had dogs. The dog that I had for years passed away a few years ago. So when I first moved into my apartment at the beginning of 2018, my mom let me have her dog stay with me for a few months but now it’s time for me to be a puppy mommy again. It probably won’t happen for a few more months because I am trying to save up as much money for her as I can but I’m so excited for this new journey!

Bring on the new year! What are some of your goals you want to achieve in 2019?

  1. Amazing! As I’ve just graduated with my Master’s in September, I hope to settle into a career I love in 2019 and travel to a few new countries!
