My January Ipsy Bag

Hey, lovelies! Yesterday, I finally got my first Ipsy bag of the year. I’m so excited because I haven’t gotten an Ipsy bag in about 6 months. I totally forgot about the excitement that I get when I see that bright and shiny pink package in my mailbox.

If you’ve never got an Ipsy bag before, it’s a beauty subscription service that sends you a cute bag with 5 beauty products based on your preferences for only $10 a month! Most of the time, you’ll get sample sizes but there are time’s when I’ve gotten full-size products! For only $10 a month, it’s a great deal. What I Got In My Bag

This month I got some really fun things!

  • Skin & Co Face Truffle Gommage
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Full Coverage Foundation
  • Naked Cosmetics Heavy Metal in HE-06
  • Kasca Velvet Black Matte nail polish
  • Belle En Argent lip gloss in shade Bored Now

This Face Gommage is a polishing exfoliator. I was very excited to try this because I love trying new skin products and I’ve been needing a new face scrub for a while. When I tried this last night, I was impressed! It has a nice light apricot smell and it does an amazing job at exfoliating! It’s gentle but you can tell it’s actually getting all the dry skin off. After I washed the product away, my skin was so smooth and soft!

I’ve been a big fan of glosses lately so I was excited to try this product out. It’s a clear gloss with pink sparkles! The sparkles are pretty subtle but still adds a very pretty look. I’ve also seen some reviews that said this lip gloss is very sticky but I disagree. Most lipglosses have a certain stickiness to them because it’s a gloss and not a matte lipstick so that’s to be expected. This gloss goes on very smooth and is comfortable to wear. It also stays on for hours!

I’ve been wanting to try the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation forever but I could never get myself to buy it so imagine my excitement when I saw that I was receiving it in my glam bag! I was nervous that this shade wasn’t going to be anywhere near my skin tone but surprisingly, it was about spot on! The first thing I noticed was the coverage. I have a few breakouts right now and this foundation covered them pretty well!

I’ll be honest and say that I’ve never really been a fan of loose powdered eyeshadow. It’s always so messy! Although, I did try this product anyway. With any loose powder, an eyeshadow primer is a must or it’s just going to be a mess. This color is such a pigmented blue and I love the way it looked on my eyelid! There was some fallout but I didn’t hate it. The thing about this product is it is very versatile. You could use it as an eyeliner, lipstick, or mix it with clear polish to create a vibrant and pretty nail polish! If you don’t like it as an eyeshadow, you can easily find a different way to use it.

You can never go wrong with new black nail polish! I’ve never had a matte black polish though so I was very excited to try this. Let me just say, I’m very impressed! Lots of nail polishes that I’ve had have that small skinny brush and I at least have to give it a good 4 swipes to make sure the nail is covered. This nail polish has a big brush that lets you coat the entire nail in 1-2 swipes! The next thing that I love is that it’s extremely pigmented. I didn’t even need to add a second coat! This nail polish also dries into a nice matte black. It’s my new favorite nail polish for sure.

My Final Thoughts

Overall, I loved everything I got in my bag this month! There was such a good diversity in products too. I got skincare, makeup, and a nail polish instead of just all makeup. If I had to rate this month’s glam bag, I would give it a 10/10.

Let me know if you’ve tried Ipsy before and what you got in your bag this month if you got one!
