Dry skin sucks. When it comes to my dry skin, I’ve spent so much money trying to find the perfect products that will help. Dry skin is not only uncomfortable but it’s not very pretty.
Especially when applying makeup. I hate when my foundation clings to those dry patches. If you can relate so far, I have three amazing skincare tools that have helped my skin tremendously!

I understand that nobody’s skin is the same but I recommend at least trying these tools because I believe in them so much.
To start this post off, I have to tell you about the two Vanity Planet items I couldn’t live without. Vanity Planet has skincare products that are of amazing quality and affordable.
Aira Ionic Facial Steamer
When I got the Aira Ionic facial steamer, I automatically felt kind of fancy because it brings spa vibes into your bathroom! I use this about two times a week and I’ve noticed a huge difference in the moisture of my skin. If I use this regularly along with skincare products I’ll mention in a separate post, I rarely get dry and flakey spots!

The steam that comes out of this thing is powerful but not overwhelming. The tiny water molecules work hard to hydrate and soften your skin. This helps release impurities and dead skin.
This spa experience can last up to 5-10 minutes each session with it’s water tank at max which is located in the back. During this time, I’ll either listen to a podcast or some relaxing music.

A little pro tip from me: Put on your favorite facial sheet mask while steaming your face! The steam will help the product really soak into your skin so you get the best benefits and results.
Also, this steamer comes with little rounds you can put essential oils on then stick in the nozzle. The steam will activate the essential oil making the perfect at-home spa experience.
I highly recommend using lavender essential oil!
Raedia Facial Brush
I’ll be honest, I was a die-hard Clarisonic fan for years.
When they went out of business, my heart broke a little bit and the search for a new facial brush was on. I was seeing amazing testimonies for Vanity Planet’s Raedia Facial brush for a while and because of the affordable price, there was no harm in trying it!

What I loved right away was the fact the brush kit came with not one but three brush heads:
- One daily cleansing brush
- One weekly exfoliating brush
- One silicone brush for sensitive skin
I use the daily and weekly brush heads the most but on days I have breakouts, I use the brush for sensitive skin.
This brush also has two speeds so you can control the intensity of your face-washing experience.
Since using the Raedia, I have seen big improvements in my dry skin. I won’t say that I’m cured of acne because let’s be honest, that’s unrealistic.
Although, I have not had cystic acne in months! That’s huge for me. I do believe this brush plays a large part in that.
Facial Shavers
Girl, shave your face. No, seriously.
As a girl with lots of peach fuzz on my face, I didn’t realize how beneficial shaving would be. Especially with dry skin because it helps exfoliate and more!

Some benefits to shaving your face are:
- Exfoliates dead skin cells
- Helps skincare products absorb better
- Easier makeup application
If you decide to shave your face, be sure to be gentle and always moisturize right after.
I know there’s a myth that if you shave your face that your hair will grow back thicker but don’t worry, it’s been proven that’s just a myth. Yay!
My favorite face shavers are very affordable and can be found on Amazon. These come in a large pack of 40 so you’re set for months depending on how often you use them.

To my dry skin squad out there, I got your back…and your face. I hope these tools help!

Thanks for the great tips. I definitely should get at least a facial brush.
Yes, definitely try it! 🙂
Oooh, I would seriously love to treat myself to that steamer. I usually end up filling a sink or shallow bowl with hot water and putting my head over it with a towel draped across so I can steam my skin. This seems WAY easier haha!! Love this post.
I fully agree with you. I also have dry skin and one of the best things I could buy is the facial steamer. And every time I shave my face I can see the dead cells coming out in the blade.
It’s so satisfying!
Oh wow! This just changed my whole perspective on skincare. Or actually, maybe I just realized that I still have so much to learn, lol. I am now 33 and for the first time in my life starting to get a bit worried about fine lines and such. I’ve always had relatively easy skin and therefore wasn’t that invested in skincare, but I guess with age we need to up our efforts. I will definitely be on the hunt for a facial brush with different brushes for daily care and exfoliating – that sounds like exactly what I need. Will also be looking for a facial steamer, that thing looks awesome and with the essential oils, I can imagine it truly helps to calm down too. Thanks for all your wonderful insights! Love, Susanne
I’m so happy you found this post helpful, Susanne!
These tools look really great! I love the idea of having an at home steamer, it must feel like your at the salon when you use it. I want to try those face shavers but I’ve always been a bit wary, I’ll definitely give them a try now! X
That steamer sounds great! I’ve had a facial brush before and it did help a bit but Ive got quite sensitive skin and it was a bit rough for me! I need something much gentler. I’m sure the steamer would be a better match for me!

I must be the only person who hasn’t done the whole shaving face thing.. I have quite fair hair on my face and I’m ok with it. I reckon my first facial will include it tho!
Rosie
This was great! I always wanted to treat myself to a steamer but never got around it, it truly brings a spa feel at home! Facial brushes are so amazing, I think I have one from Philips and it works wonders, thanks for sharing x
